CVE-2026-85313

Description

A flaw was found in Apache Camel's Jetty component. When Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS)—a mechanism that controls how web applications access resources from other domains—is enabled on an endpoint, the component applies an insecure default policy that permits requests from any domain with credentials. A remote attacker can exploit this issue by tricking an authenticated user into visiting a malicious website, enabling the attacker to issue unauthorized requests to the endpoint and access sensitive information.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as Moderate severity because exploitation requires victim interaction and specifically depends on routes explicitly configured with CORS enabled, limiting the impact to unauthorized read access without integrity or availability loss. In typical Red Hat environments, Apache Camel Jetty consumer endpoints do not enable cross-origin sharing by default. Consequently, exposure is limited to deployments where operators have explicitly turned on CORS support without specifying restrictive origin filters.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
