CVE-2026-85260

Description

A flaw was found in the Apache Camel MLLP (Minimal Lower Layer Protocol) component. This issue leads to information disclosure because clinical message payloads containing sensitive patient data are written to standard application logs. The component enables logging of protected health information by default and continues writing payload data along certain execution paths even when logging is disabled. Consequently, a user with access to application logs can view confidential patient records.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as Moderate because exposing confidential HL7 message payloads requires local privileges or direct authorization to read application log files and central logging systems, without directly permitting data alteration or service disruption. In typical Red Hat deployments, exposure is limited to environments that explicitly configure and run Camel routes using the MLLP component for healthcare data interchange. Standard Camel integrations that do not utilize the MLLP transport are not susceptible to this unintended data exposure.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
