CVE-2026-83387

Description

A flaw was found in the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) component of OpenJDK. An unauthenticated remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by submitting specially crafted input to exposed JDBC application programming interfaces (APIs) or by executing untrusted code. If successfully exploited, this flaw allows an attacker to obtain unauthorized access to critical data, leading to information disclosure.

Statement

Red Hat rates this vulnerability as Moderate because exploitation requires an application to parse untrusted input using specific JDBC WebRowSet XML interfaces or execute untrusted code in a sandboxed environment. In typical enterprise architectures, these specialized APIs are not directly accessible to external, unauthenticated users. Additionally, the flaw is restricted to unauthorized disclosure of data and does not grant system modification or denial-of-service capabilities.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
