CVE-2026-80432
Description
A flaw was found in kitty. An authorization vulnerability allows a program running inside the terminal to access the contents of files dragged over the window, leading to unauthorized information disclosure. This issue occurs because the drag-and-drop handler fulfills file data requests without verifying that the user completed the drop action, and retains transfer state after a drag leaves the window. Consequently, a local application can obtain sensitive file contents even when a user only hovers a file across the terminal window without releasing it.
