CVE-2026-75569
Description
A flaw was found in mce-operator-bundle. The build process fetches and executes scripts from a remote repository without performing integrity checks, such as commit pinning or signature verification. This allows a malicious actor with write access to the remote repository to inject and execute arbitrary code during the build. The consequence is a compromised build process, potentially leading to the distribution of malicious software.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important because it introduces a supply chain risk within the mce-operator-bundle build process. The build logic is fetched from a mutable master branch without integrity checks or commit pinning, allowing for the execution of untrusted code if the source repository is compromised. This could impact the integrity of delivered Red Hat products.
Mitigation
The vulnerability resides within the build process of `mce-operator-bundle`, specifically concerning the fetching of build logic from a mutable source without integrity verification. As this issue pertains to the build-time integrity of the software, there are no direct runtime configuration or operational controls available for users to mitigate this vulnerability in deployed Red Hat products.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Confidentiality,Integrity,Availability
Technical Impact: Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
An attacker could insert malicious functionality into the program by causing the program to download code that the attacker has placed into the untrusted control sphere, such as a malicious web site. This could enable the injection of malware, information exposure by granting excessive privileges or permissions to the untrusted functionality, DOM-based XSS vulnerabilities, stealing user's cookies, open redirect to malware (CWE-601), etc.
