CVE-2026-74742

Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's veth component. In a multi-queue setup without an eXpress Data Path (XDP) program attached, the veth_poll() function incorrectly derives the index of the peer transmit (TX) queue to wake. This can cause a TX queue to stop indefinitely if it becomes full, as the polling mechanism fails to reactivate it. This issue leads to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition, preventing further network traffic processing on the affected queue.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
