CVE-2026-71474
Description
A flaw was found in insights-client. When the application receives a non-200 response, it logs the request headers, which can include the cloud.openshift.com pull-secret token. A local user with access to pod logs on the hub could read this long-lived credential. This information disclosure could grant unauthorized access to Red Hat cloud services.
Statement
This Moderate flaw in insights-client can expose the cloud.openshift.com pull-secret token within pod logs on the hub. When the client receives a non-200 response and logs at verbosity level 3 or higher, the token is written to stderr/pod logs, making it accessible to principals with pods/log access. This data exposure is limited by the need for specific logging conditions and existing log access permissions.
Mitigation
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.

Confidentiality
Technical Impact: Read Application Data
Logging sensitive user data, full path names, or system information often provides attackers with an additional, less-protected path to acquiring the information.
