CVE-2026-67225
Description
A flaw was found in rabbitmq-server. The stream protocol fails to validate the declared length of incoming frames against the negotiated maximum frame size before buffering them into memory. When the stream plugin is enabled, a remote attacker can exploit this issue by declaring an oversized frame. This causes excessive memory consumption, potentially resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate impact because, while remotely triggerable without authentication, it exclusively results in excessive memory allocation leading to a denial of service and requires the optional stream plugin to be enabled. In standard Red Hat deployments, RabbitMQ operates without the stream plugin enabled by default, substantially limiting the baseline exposure. Systems that do not use streaming capabilities or do not expose the stream protocol port are unaffected.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
