CVE-2026-63621

Description

A flaw was found in Apache Camel Knative component. The Knative consumer in camel-knative improperly handles CloudEvent extension fields in structured content mode, copying them directly into message headers without proper filtering. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to inject internal Camel headers through a specially crafted CloudEvent request. Such injected headers can override configured values when messages are forwarded to other components, leading to server-side request forgery (SSRF), path traversal, or message-dispatch redirection.

Statement

This is an Important vulnerability in Apache Camel Knative that allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to perform server-side request forgery, path traversal, or message-dispatch redirection. The flaw occurs because the Knative consumer in camel-knative improperly processes CloudEvent extension fields in structured content mode, allowing the injection of internal Camel headers. This can lead to an attacker controlling internal routing or file access within affected Red Hat OpenShift Serverless and Red Hat build of Apache Camel deployments.

Mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
