CVE-2026-63406
Description
A flaw was found in AnyCable's telemetry subsystem. This vulnerability allows for the disclosure of a stable fingerprint, which is derived from sensitive configuration data including secrets. This occurs because the telemetry client processes command-line arguments containing secrets and uses publicly known authentication material. While raw credentials are not directly exposed, the derived fingerprint could potentially be used to infer information about the system's configuration.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate severity for Red Hat because successful exploitation requires an adversary to intercept outbound telemetry traffic via a machine-in-the-middle or DNS manipulation attack, and the transmitted data consists of a cryptographic hash rather than cleartext credentials. Red Hat Enterprise Linux and core product offerings do not include or distribute the AnyCable component, resulting in no direct impact on default platform deployments. In standalone environments where this software might be deployed, sensitive tokens passed at launch are factored into an external tracking identifier authenticated with public credentials, which presents a limited information disclosure risk under specific network conditions.
