CVE-2026-62282
Description
A flaw was found in OpenCVE. An authenticated user, with permissions to configure notification channels, could exploit a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability. This issue arises from insufficient validation of user-supplied HTTP or HTTPS destinations during notification testing for Webhook and Slack integrations. A successful exploit allows an attacker to trigger requests to internal network resources and retrieve sensitive information from reachable HTTP services.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate because exploitation requires authenticated privileges to configure notification integrations, restricting the attack surface to authorized users. OpenCVE is not shipped or supported within Red Hat enterprise products, meaning default installations do not expose this service. Consequently, Red Hat supported products are not affected by this vulnerability.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Confidentiality
Technical Impact: Read Application Data
Integrity
Technical Impact: Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Access Control
Technical Impact: Bypass Protection Mechanism
By providing URLs to unexpected hosts or ports, attackers can make it appear that the server is sending the request, possibly bypassing access controls such as firewalls that prevent the attackers from accessing the URLs directly. The server can be used as a proxy to conduct port scanning of hosts in internal networks, use other URLs such as that can access documents on the system (using file://), or use other protocols such as gopher:// or tftp://, which may provide greater control over the contents of requests.
