CVE-2026-59284
Description
A flaw was found in Spring Cloud Commons. A remote attacker with high privileges could exploit a missing allow list for property keys in the writable /actuator/env endpoint. This vulnerability allows the attacker to modify environment properties, resulting in a high integrity impact and a low availability impact on the affected system.
Statement
This flaw is rated as Important as it allows a remote attacker with high privileges to achieve integrity compromise by manipulating environment properties through the writable /actuator/env endpoint in Spring Cloud Commons. The absence of an allow list for property keys enables unauthorized modification of application configuration, impacting Red Hat JBoss Fuse deployments where this endpoint is exposed and accessible to highly privileged users.
Mitigation
Restrict access to the `/actuator/env` endpoint. Configure Spring Security to require authentication for all actuator endpoints, or implement network-level restrictions such as firewall rules to limit access to trusted networks only. After applying these configuration changes, ensure that the affected services are reloaded or restarted for the mitigation to take effect.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
