CVE-2026-54757
Description
A flaw was found in Trestle, a Python SDK and command-line tool for managing OSCAL compliance documents. This vulnerability involves server-side template injection (SSTI) due to the MDCleanInclude and MDSectionInclude Jinja2 tags improperly re-parsing untrusted Markdown content as template source code. An attacker who can control content rendered by Trestle, such as a crafted Markdown file, can inject a Jinja2 expression. This allows for remote code execution, enabling the attacker to run arbitrary operating system commands within the Trestle process.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
