CVE-2026-53353
Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's High-availability Seamless Redundancy (HSR) module. An incorrect assumption in the hsr_addr_is_self() function regarding the self_node during device unregistration could lead to unexpected system behavior. This occurs because the self_node is cleared before the device is fully unregistered, creating a window where a user or process might interact with the device in an inconsistent state. This could potentially result in system instability or a denial of service (DoS).
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
