CVE-2026-47082

Description

A flaw was found in Cyrus IMAP's cyrus-imapd component. A user with low privileges can exploit a vulnerability in the vacation "fcc" feature. By crafting a specific Sieve script, the user can bypass access control lists and deliver vacation auto-reply messages into any mailbox, leading to unauthorized modification of mailbox content.

This Moderate impact flaw in Cyrus IMAP allows a low-privileged user to bypass access control lists via a crafted Sieve script utilizing the vacation 'fcc' feature. This enables unauthorized delivery of vacation auto-reply messages into arbitrary mailboxes, leading to modification of mailbox content.

Mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
