CVE-2026-43456

Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's bonding driver. When a non-Ethernet device, such as a Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) tunnel, is added to a bond, a type confusion vulnerability occurs. This happens because the bonding driver incorrectly copies network header operations from the slave device, leading to the kernel accessing incorrect data structures. This can result in a kernel crash, causing a denial of service.

Red Hat acknowledges the upstream Linux kernel correction for «bonding» as described in COMMENT_ZERO. Fixes are delivered through standard kernel errata for supported products. Operational exposure depends on whether this subsystem or driver is active in your configuration.
