CVE-2026-43114

Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter component, specifically within the nft_set_pipapo_avx2 AVX2 matching functions. This vulnerability occurs when a pipapo set with an 'ipv4 . port' key is reloaded. Due to incorrect masking, the system may erroneously identify non-matching elements as duplicates, leading to data integrity issues and unexpected behavior. A remote attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a denial of service or impact data integrity.

Statement

This is an Important flaw in the Linux kernel's netfilter component, specifically within the nft_set_pipapo_avx2 functionality. Incorrect processing during AVX2 matching operations can lead to misidentification of network data entries, potentially causing unexpected network filtering behavior and data integrity problems. This issue primarily impacts Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 and 10 systems configured to utilize AVX2 instructions for netfilter set processing.

Mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
