CVE-2026-43091
Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel XFRM IPsec policy teardown path. xfrm_policy_fini() freed policy_bydst hash tables without waiting for concurrent RCU readers to finish even though those tables are published with rcu_assign_pointer() and read via RCU. That could allow use-after-free access during network namespace exit. Upstream waits for an RCU grace period (synchronize_rcu()) before freeing the hash table memory.
Statement
Red Hat acknowledges the upstream Linux kernel correction for «xfrm» as described in COMMENT_ZERO. Fixes are delivered through standard kernel errata for supported products. Operational exposure depends on whether this subsystem or driver is active in your configuration.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
