CVE-2026-41719
Description
A flaw was found in Spring Data KeyValue. This vulnerability, known as a Spring Expression Language (SpEL) Injection, allows a remote attacker with low privileges to execute arbitrary expressions. This occurs when unsanitized user input is passed as a sorting parameter into a repository query method. Successful exploitation could lead to information disclosure and have a limited impact on data integrity and availability.
Statement
A flaw was found in Spring Data KeyValue. The SpelPropertyComparator used for sorting in KeyValue repository queries does not properly neutralize SpEL expressions, allowing an attacker to inject arbitrary expressions. Exploitation requires the application to use KeyValue repository queries with user-controlled Sort parameters.
Mitigation
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
