CVE-2026-19688
Description
A flaw was found in the Admin REST API of Keycloak, an identity and access management solution. The Admin API fails to verify the intended audience of bearer tokens during authentication. This issue allows an attacker who operates a client within a realm to capture an administrator's access token and reuse it to perform unauthorized administrative actions, potentially leading to full realm compromise.
Statement
The Red Hat Product Security team has assessed the severity of this vulnerability as Moderate, given that exploitation requires an administrator to log into a compromised client and the attacker to capture the resulting token. Successful exploitation allows an attacker to perform unauthorized administrative operations on the Keycloak realm. The vulnerability's root cause is the failure of the Admin API to enforce audience restrictions on bearer tokens.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
