CVE-2026-19547

Description

A flaw was found in Ghostscript. In Windows environments, the application searches for PostScript resource files in predictable directory paths that do not exist by default. An authenticated local user can exploit this issue by creating the required directory structure and planting a malicious PostScript file. When another user or system service runs Ghostscript, the file is automatically loaded and executed, leading to arbitrary code execution and privilege escalation with the permissions of the executing process.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
