CVE-2026-16008
Description
A flaw was found in json-schema-library. A remote attacker can exploit a vulnerability in the parsePropertyDependencies function, leading to improperly controlled modification of object prototype attributes. This type of vulnerability, known as prototype pollution, could allow an attacker to alter the behavior of an application or potentially execute arbitrary code.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate because triggering the issue requires an attacker to supply crafted schema data through authenticated application workflows, preventing direct unauthenticated compromise. Within Red Hat deployments, including Red Hat Developer Hub and Ansible Automation Platform, the component runs within isolated containerized services, constraining the potential blast radius. Although object prototype modification may degrade service integrity or cause denial of service, it does not grant direct access to the underlying host system.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
