CVE-2026-15195
Description
A flaw was found in apidevtools json-schema-ref-parser. A remote attacker can exploit a weakness in the Refs.set and Pointer.set functions to improperly modify object prototype attributes. This manipulation can lead to unintended changes in the application's behavior or data.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate impact because exploitation requires feeding crafted schema definitions to trigger prototype pollution, restricting the potential blast radius to altered application behavior or denial of service rather than arbitrary code execution. In Red Hat environments such as Cryostat, the vulnerable parser is consumed as a dependency within the OpenShift console plugin, where processing is constrained to authenticated administrative sessions. As a result, the defect does not allow host-level access or cross-tenant privilege escalation.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
