CVE-2026-121426
개요
A flaw was found in Nodemailer. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to cause information disclosure by bypassing recipient address restrictions. Due to improper parsing of email addresses containing angle brackets within quoted sections, the parser misidentifies the intended destination domain. Consequently, an attacker can submit a crafted email address that passes domain validation checks while causing outgoing messages to be redirected and delivered to an attacker-controlled server.
내용
Red Hat has evaluated this vulnerability as having a Moderate impact because successful exploitation requires an application workflow that accepts untrusted recipient email addresses while enforcing domain-level allowlists. In deployments utilizing affected Node.js services for automated outbound messaging, an attacker could supply a maliciously crafted address that bypasses destination validation filters and redirects email contents to an external domain. However, the issue does not allow arbitrary code execution, privilege escalation, or direct compromise of host infrastructure.
CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System) 점수 세부 사항
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
