The highest-value action is to prevent out-of-sandbox code execution by correcting reference resolution in the Images component when handling network traffic from a compromised renderer: upgrade to Chromium 157.0.8103.38 (or the fixed Chromium builds), which corrects reference resolution within the Images component to prevent escaping the browser sandbox, closing crafted network traffic. Until patched, this is only a concern on macOS installations running Chromium — Linux and Windows deployments are unaffected — so monitor renderer processes for compromise and filter or inspect untrusted network traffic. As a compensating measure, Enforce macOS System Integrity Protection to prevent modification of protected system binaries, paths, and system processes and Deploy EDR agents to detect anomalous child process creation, suspicious network connections, and post-exploitation behavior outside the browser sandbox. These controls limit blast radius and contain exploitation, but they do not fix the underlying incorrect reference resolution — apply the upstream patch to fully remediate.
