CVE-2026-120673
Description
A flaw was found in the MongoDB Rust Driver. This vulnerability can lead to information disclosure when optional diagnostic tracing is enabled alongside automatic client-side field-level encryption. Because the driver captures command details prior to encryption, a user with read access to exported trace logs can observe sensitive plaintext data without possessing the encryption keys.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having Moderate impact for Red Hat products because exploitation requires non-default operational configurations and access to exported trace logs. The issue is only exposed when both automatic client-side field-level encryption and diagnostic tracing are actively enabled. Under standard deployments, diagnostic tracing is not turned on by default, and access to generated application trace data is restricted to authorized local users or administrators.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
