CVE-2026-120091
Description
A flaw was found in Temporal Server, where the Kubernetes compute provider within the Worker Service constructs its client directly from user-supplied requests rather than trusted operator configurations. An authenticated remote user with read access to a namespace can exploit this vulnerability by submitting a crafted configuration during deployment validation. Successful exploitation allows arbitrary command execution on the host system under the privileges of the server process, potentially compromising cluster credentials and data across all namespaces.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important because low-privileged users with read-only access to a single namespace can trigger code execution within the host environment of the Worker Service. Exploitation breaks multi-tenant boundaries, potentially exposing cluster-wide TLS secrets and database credentials held by the service account. In Red Hat Ansible Automation Orchestrator deployments, exposure occurs when the Kubernetes compute provider is permitted in the dynamic configuration allowlist and worker controller services are active.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.

Confidentiality,Integrity,Availability,Non-Repudiation
Technical Impact: Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands; DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart; Read Files or Directories; Modify Files or Directories; Read Application Data; Modify Application Data; Hide Activities
Attackers could execute unauthorized operating system commands, which could then be used to disable the product, or read and modify data for which the attacker does not have permissions to access directly. Since the targeted application is directly executing the commands instead of the attacker, any malicious activities may appear to come from the application or the application's owner.
