CVE-2026-117625
Description
A flaw was found in Jenkins. Due to a missing permission check, an authenticated user with basic read permissions can access sensitive HTTP proxy configuration details. This allows unauthorized users to view the proxy server hostname, port, username, and exclusion lists, resulting in information disclosure.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Moderate severity because authenticated users with standard Overall/Read permissions can enumerate internal infrastructure details, specifically HTTP proxy endpoints and associated configuration data. Although this enables unauthorized visibility into network routing metadata—including proxy hostnames, ports, account usernames, and bypass domains—the flaw does not expose proxy passwords, alter system configurations, or permit code execution.
Mitigation
Upgrade to Jenkins weekly 2.588+ or LTS 2.580.2+ (the endpoint then requires Overall/Administer); restricting Overall/Read grants reduces exposure; no proxy passwords are disclosed.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
