CVE-2026-116692
Description
A flaw was found in MLflow. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution on the server. By uploading a crafted Python file through artifact endpoints and invoking a third-party scorer, an attacker can bypass module restrictions and force the server to dynamically import and execute the untrusted code. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to gain control of the MLflow service and access sensitive system data.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Critical severity for Red Hat products because an unauthenticated network attacker can execute arbitrary code within the context of the MLflow server process. The flaw requires low attack complexity and zero user interaction, allowing complete compromise of data confidentiality, system integrity, and service availability on accessible tracking servers. In typical deployments lacking strict authentication or running with writable application directories, attackers can upload custom modules via artifact endpoints and trigger dynamic execution during third-party scorer evaluation. Environments that enforce mandatory access controls, unprivileged service execution, and read-only application filesystems significantly limit the practical exploitability.
Mitigation
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity,Confidentiality,Availability,Other
Technical Impact: Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands; Alter Execution Logic
The attacker might be able to execute code that is not directly accessible to the attacker. Alternately, the attacker could call unexpected code in the wrong place or the wrong time, possibly modifying critical system state.
Availability,Other
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart; Other
The attacker might be able to use reflection to call the wrong code, possibly with unexpected arguments that violate the API (CWE-227). This could cause the product to exit or hang.
Confidentiality
Technical Impact: Read Application Data
By causing the wrong code to be invoked, the attacker might be able to trigger a runtime error that leaks sensitive information in the error message, such as CWE-536.
