CVE-2026-114612
Description
A flaw was found in LiteLLM. The proxy server reuses the same cryptographic key for encrypting stored data and generating session authentication tokens. An authenticated attacker can exploit this flaw by submitting crafted metadata to obtain an encrypted administrator credential, which can then be reused to forge an administrative session. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to achieve privilege escalation, gaining full administrative access and the ability to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying system.
Statement
Critical severity reflects the high blast radius of this vulnerability, as an authenticated user can forge administrative session tokens over the network and execute arbitrary system commands via exposed proxy endpoints. Red Hat products evaluated against this issue do not incorporate the affected LiteLLM code and are not impacted. Standalone deployments of the LiteLLM proxy remain susceptible when user-supplied metadata is encrypted with the same key used for session validation.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
