CVE-2026-114603

Description

A flaw was found in opentelemetry-api. An unauthenticated remote attacker can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending an HTTP request with a malformed tracing header containing an excessively long sequence of whitespace characters. Because the header parsing logic uses an inefficient regular expression, processing this input triggers excessive backtracking that consumes substantial CPU resources. As a result, worker processes can become occupied and significantly delay or block the handling of legitimate requests.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
