CVE-2026-114055

Description

A flaw was found in vLLM. A remote attacker can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by supplying manipulated multimodal processing parameters with excessively large image, frame, or patch values. Because the application processes these unvalidated parameters directly, it exhausts available memory and terminates the server.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as Important because an unauthenticated remote attacker can force an out-of-memory crash of the shared inference process through a single network call. In Red Hat platforms deploying model serving, such as Red Hat OpenShift AI and Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI, the vLLM engine processes user-supplied multimodal arguments without enforcing upper bounds on resource allocations. Consequently, target instances crash when processing over-sized image or video parameters, halting model serving across all concurrent tenants.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
