CVE-2026-114053
Description
A flaw was found in vLLM. This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution in the server process. By submitting a crafted multimodal request specifying an attacker-controlled code revision, an attacker can cause the application to load and execute untrusted dynamic processor code when the server is configured to trust remote code.
Statement
This flaw is rated as Important severity rather than Critical because successful exploitation requires non-default settings and multiple operational prerequisites, despite potentially allowing remote arbitrary code execution. In Red Hat AI deployments, vLLM runs with remote code execution disabled by default, which natively shields standard environments from loading dynamic external logic. Vulnerability is limited to deployments where operators explicitly opt in to trusting remote code while hosting dynamic multimodal models accessible to untrusted callers.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
