CVE-2026-113709
Description
A flaw was found in Argo CD, where a Kustomize kustomization can point Helm at a repository-controlled directory and load a plugin that runs when Kustomize Helm rendering is enabled in the repo-server. This allows an attacker to execute arbitrary commands inside argocd-repo-server and read repository credentials and other data accessible to that process.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important because an authenticated attacker capable of supplying application manifests could execute arbitrary commands within the repository server pod, potentially exposing repository credentials and other sensitive data. Exploitation is constrained because Helm chart rendering during Kustomize builds is disabled by default and requires explicit administrator enablement. In typical Red Hat deployments where this non-default build flag is not enabled, the attack vector is inaccessible.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
