CVE-2026-113382
Description
A flaw was found in fast-tunnel. An authenticated remote attacker can exploit this issue by submitting a specially crafted plugin archive file through the plugin installer. Because the application extracts the archive without proper validation, an attacker can achieve unrestricted file upload, potentially leading to unauthorized file creation or modification on the server.
Statement
This vulnerability is evaluated as having a Moderate impact because exploitation requires valid credentials to access the administrative plugin installer, precluding unauthenticated remote execution. While improper validation during archive extraction allows unauthorized file writes across the host, the attack scope is constrained by authentication prerequisites. Furthermore, the fast-tunnel component is neither shipped nor supported across Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other Red Hat product portfolios.

Technical Impact: Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Arbitrary code execution is possible if an uploaded file is interpreted and executed as code by the recipient. This is especially true for web-server extensions such as .asp and .php because these file types are often treated as automatically executable, even when file system permissions do not specify execution. For example, in Unix environments, programs typically cannot run unless the execute bit is set, but PHP programs may be executed by the web server without directly invoking them on the operating system.
