CVE-2026-113313

Description

A flaw was found in the DevTools component of Chromium. A remote attacker could exploit this memory corruption vulnerability by convincing a user to open a specially crafted HTML page. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code within the isolated browser sandbox.

Statement

Red Hat Product Security rates this vulnerability as Important rather than Moderate because an unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger arbitrary code execution through user interaction with malicious web content. Although execution remains confined within the process sandbox, the breach allows compromise of active session state and browser data. Chromium packages are not included in default Red Hat Enterprise Linux installations and are distributed only via EPEL and Fedora repositories.

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)

Integrity

Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands

Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.

Availability

Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart

Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.

Other

Technical Impact: Unexpected State

Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
