CVE-2026-113301
Description
A flaw was found in the WebAppInstalls component of Google Chrome. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by enticing a user to visit a specially crafted HTML page, triggering memory corruption. This issue could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code within the browser's restricted security sandbox.
Statement
This vulnerability is evaluated as an Important severity flaw because an unauthenticated remote attacker can achieve arbitrary code execution within the client-side sandbox, although successful exploitation requires user interaction to navigate to a malicious website. Red Hat Enterprise Linux does not ship the Chromium browser package in its core supported product repositories, limiting direct impact to community distributions such as Fedora and Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL). As a result, standard enterprise deployments do not expose this vulnerability unless community packages have been specifically installed.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
