CVE-2026-113286
Description
A flaw was found in the Google Lens component of Chromium. This memory corruption vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code within the browser's restricted sandbox environment by enticing a user to visit a specially crafted web page.
Statement
Red Hat Product Security rates this vulnerability as Important severity because it allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution upon convincing a user to open a crafted webpage, whereas a lower rating would not reflect the potential for full renderer compromise. Chromium packages are delivered exclusively via Fedora and EPEL community channels rather than core Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases, significantly limiting exposure across enterprise environments. Although the flaw permits code execution within the browser's unprivileged process, standard sandboxing restricts direct access to the underlying operating system unless chained with a separate sandbox escape flaw.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
