CVE-2026-113284
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. A remote attacker could potentially execute arbitrary code inside the application's restricted sandbox environment by tricking a user into viewing a specially crafted HTML page. This issue is caused by memory corruption during the processing of Extensible Markup Language (XML) content.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important severity because remote attackers can achieve unauthorized code execution within the rendering process by enticing a user to load malicious web content. Although the impact is confined by the application sandbox and relies on direct user interaction, successful exploitation can compromise the confidentiality and integrity of active browser sessions. Chromium is available through Fedora and EPEL community repositories rather than core supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
