CVE-2026-113268
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. A memory corruption vulnerability exists in the Navigation component when processing web content. A remote attacker could exploit this flaw by enticing a user to visit a crafted HTML page, potentially allowing arbitrary code execution within the browser sandbox environment.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important severity because an unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger memory corruption to execute arbitrary code within the sandboxed browser process. While successful exploitation requires user interaction to visit a malicious website, the ability to run arbitrary instructions compromises client session confidentiality and integrity. Exposure within Red Hat environments is limited, as Chromium is not packaged in the core Red Hat Enterprise Linux distribution and is only consumed via community repositories such as EPEL.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
