CVE-2026-113254
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. A memory corruption vulnerability in the DevTools component may allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code within the sandbox environment. Exploitation requires a victim to load a specially crafted HTML page.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important rather than Critical because, while it enables arbitrary execution by enticing a victim to interact with hostile web content, code execution remains confined within the browser sandbox boundaries. The risk does not directly compromise the underlying operating system unless chained with an additional privilege escalation or sandbox bypass flaw. Chromium is provided solely through Fedora and EPEL community repositories and is not packaged or supported in Red Hat Enterprise Linux core releases.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
