CVE-2026-113245

Description

A flaw was found in Chromium DevTools. A remote attacker could exploit a memory corruption vulnerability to achieve arbitrary code execution within the browser's sandbox (an isolated security environment) by enticing a user to load a specially crafted HTML page.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as Important severity because an attacker could run arbitrary code within the sandboxed browser process if a user visits a malicious website. While remote code execution is possible, the impact is constrained by internal sandbox isolation, preventing direct compromise of the underlying operating system without an additional sandbox bypass. Furthermore, Chromium is not shipped or supported in core Red Hat Enterprise Linux, confining potential exposure to community-supported channels like EPEL and Fedora.

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)

Integrity

Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands

Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.

Availability

Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart

Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.

Other

Technical Impact: Unexpected State

Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
