CVE-2026-113243
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution inside the browser sandbox by tricking a user into loading a crafted HTML page. The flaw is caused by a memory corruption error during Document Object Model (DOM) processing.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important severity because an unauthenticated remote attacker can trigger memory corruption within the renderer process to achieve code execution upon user interaction. Although the blast radius is constrained by browser sandboxing, the severity reflects the high potential impact if combined with a sandbox escape, alongside the low attack complexity. Within Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Chromium is not included in core supported repositories and is distributed solely through community packages in EPEL.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
