CVE-2026-113232
Description
A flaw was found in Chromium's Search component. A remote attacker could exploit this memory corruption vulnerability by enticing a user to view a specially crafted HTML page. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code within the browser's sandbox environment.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as an Important impact because an unauthenticated remote attacker can achieve arbitrary code execution by enticing a user to process malicious web content, although execution remains constrained within the browser's sandbox. In Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments, Chromium is not shipped in the core enterprise product line and is maintained only in community channels such as Fedora and EPEL. Default server installations are therefore not vulnerable unless the desktop browser package is intentionally installed and executed.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
