CVE-2026-113226
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. A memory corruption issue in the Model component allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code within the browser's isolated security environment (sandbox). To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker must persuade a user to visit or load a specially crafted HTML page.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important severity because an unauthenticated remote attacker can achieve arbitrary code execution by tricking a user into rendering malicious web content, although the blast radius remains confined to the browser's isolated sandbox. Chromium is not shipped in any supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux release and is only distributed through community channels like EPEL and Fedora. Consequently, standard Red Hat enterprise environments are not exposed by default unless community packages are manually installed.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
