CVE-2026-113219
Description
A flaw was found in the Contacts component of Google Chrome. A remote attacker could exploit this memory corruption issue by convincing a user to visit a specially crafted HTML page. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute arbitrary code within the browser's sandbox environment.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having an Important severity because it enables remote code execution within the browser's sandboxed environment when a user interacts with untrusted web content. While execution remains confined to the Chromium sandbox and requires user interaction to visit a malicious page, full compromise of the renderer process presents a significant threat to data confidentiality and integrity. In Red Hat ecosystems, Chromium is distributed through community channels such as Fedora and EPEL rather than core Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
