CVE-2026-113213
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox by tricking a user into loading a specially crafted HTML page. This vulnerability is caused by memory corruption within the DevTools component when processing untrusted web content.
Statement
Red Hat has evaluated this vulnerability as having an Important impact because an unauthenticated remote attacker can achieve arbitrary execution inside the client sandbox if an end user visits malicious content. Chromium is not distributed in core Red Hat Enterprise Linux channels, and is primarily packaged for Fedora and EPEL user desktop environments. The blast radius is limited because code execution remains confined within the multi-process sandbox architecture, preventing host compromise unless chained with an auxiliary sandbox escape.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
