CVE-2026-113206
Description
A flaw was found in the Omnibox component of Google Chrome. A remote attacker could exploit this memory corruption vulnerability by tricking a user into visiting a specially crafted webpage. Successful exploitation could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code within the browser's restricted sandbox environment.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important severity because an unauthenticated remote attacker can achieve arbitrary code execution within the constrained browser sandbox by enticing a user to view hostile web content. Although sandbox confinement limits the blast radius from compromising the underlying operating system directly, the ability to execute unauthorized code upon visiting an external site represents substantial risk. Red Hat Enterprise Linux does not ship or support Chromium, as packages are only provided through community repositories like Fedora and EPEL.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
