CVE-2026-113194
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the browser's sandbox, an isolated execution environment. An attacker can exploit this issue by convincing a user to open a specially crafted HTML page, triggering memory corruption in the browser's Core component.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important rather than Critical because exploitation requires user interaction to visit a malicious page and the resulting arbitrary code execution is constrained within the browser's sandbox. Although an attacker cannot escape the sandbox directly through this flaw, successful exploitation compromises the confidentiality and integrity of the rendering process. Chromium is not shipped in core Red Hat Enterprise Linux repositories and is only available through community channels such as EPEL.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
