CVE-2026-113154
Description
A flaw was found in Chromium. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code within the browser sandbox via memory corruption in the Canvas component. To exploit this flaw, an attacker must entice a user to visit a specially crafted HTML page.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having Important impact for Red Hat because successful exploitation allows a remote attacker to execute unprivileged code within the renderer sandbox upon tricking an interactive user into viewing malicious web content. While the defect provides substantial control over the renderer process, severity is bounded at Important rather than Critical because process isolation restricts direct compromise of the underlying host without a separate sandbox escape. Additionally, Chromium is not distributed as part of core Red Hat Enterprise Linux, limiting exposure primarily to community offerings like EPEL and Fedora.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
